Sup Travellers?! If man A pulls man B out of his own house and beats him to death then man A will most likely be considered the monster. But if a mob consisting of thousands of random people pulls man B out of his own house and beats him, who's the monster in that situation? The mob or man B?

That's the question that came up last Thursday when a mob, consisting of thousands of people, stormed a prison compound in India's far northeast, dragged out a rape suspect and beat him to death on the streets.

Police said that they tried to stave off the mob with tear gas and opening fire but they couldn't save the man's life

The crowd targeted a 35-year-old suspect, identified as an undocumented Bangladeshi settler, who died of his injuries before officers could rescue him, said L.L. Doungal, the director-general of police in the remote Nagaland state, where the attack took place.

The mob that broke into the main jail in the state's Dimapur district was comprised of "thousands" of people, Doungal told CNN. "Many of them were students in uniform," he said.

The suspect was accused of raping a local woman on February 23.

The crowd planned to lynch the suspect, but he died from critical injuries suffered in the attack.

"There were students in uniform. So, we had to use minimum force," Doungal said. "We retrieved his body before it could be (hanged)."

I'm not going to comment on whether or not the mob was right or wrong in taking justice into their own hands but I am going to comment on the crappy prison facility that wasn't even able to withstand a crowd of angry protestors who were for the most part, unarmed. A prison should be a well guarded and secure facility built to withstand any kind of "break ins" or "break outs". I'm just saying. Anyway, my name is Trinikid and you've just been informed.
