Sup Travellers?! You know what's funny? Cat jokes are funny. Jokes about Leonardo DiCaprio not winning an Oscar is funny. Selfies are funny [well, some selfies are funny]. But making a joke that pokes threats towards an entire country is NOT FUNNY. Not funny at all. [Do you see me laughing? I'm not laughing because it's not funny].

According to the NY Post, a 14 year old Dutch girl tweeted a threat to American Airlines yesterday as a joke. In the tweet she says, "hello my name's Ibrahim and I'm from Afghanistan. I'm part of Al Qaida and on June 1st I'm gonna do something really big bye." [And yes, she spelt Al Qaeda incorrectly]

American Airlines saw the tweet and well, they didn't find it very funny. American Airlines replied, "Sarah, we take these threats very seriously. Your IP address and details will be forwarded to security and the FBI."

That tweet was later taken down, and it's not clear exactly what action the airline ended up taking, but Rotterdam police confirmed the teen was today arrested.

This is how Sarah responded when she found out that she was in trouble:

"omfg I was kidding"

"I was joking and it was my friend not me, take her IP address not mine"

"pls pls pls can I do something to make it good pls I'm so scared I'm just a 14 year old white girl I'm not a terrorist pls"

"I'm not gonna tell my parents, they'll tell me to delete my acc omg that would be the end of my life"

I'm not sure what's going to happen to her but I remember a case similar to this where the offender was to face 8 years in prison for his offence. [You can read that story here]. It is a fact that the USA takes terrorism threats VERY VERY seriously so I think young Sarah is in a whole lot of hot water. Should we feel sorry for her? Anyway, my name is Trinikid and you've just been informed.
