Sup Travellers?! A new Miss Universe has been crowned today and I could hear Hugo Chavez celebrating in his grave [Not really sure if that joke was very appropriate LOL]. I was backing Trinidad and Tobago all the way since I'm from Trinidad and Tobago but unfortunately Catherine Miller didn't win. The winning nation however is a nation very very close to Trinidad. Can you make a guess? Well the photo above [and my incredibly inappropriate joke in the first line] most likely gave it away but i'll say it anyhow. Venezuela's Gabriela Isler took home the crown today. Last year’s winner Olivia Culpo presented her with the diamond crown in front of millions of viewers from around the world.

Miss Philippines, 24-year-old Ariella Arida, was third runner up. The reason I mentioned Miss Philippines before I mentioned the rest was because of the fact that today, as much as 1200 of her people died in a tragic typhoon. Today was a very bittersweet day for her and I hope that her friends and family are safe and were able to watch the show and enjoy the moment with her. Patricia Rodriguez of Spain was the first runner up and Constanza Baez of Ecuador was the second runner up. Congratulations to everyone who performed well on the day.

As for Miss Trinidad and Tobago, Catherine Miller, congrats to her anyway, even though she didn't make it very far in the competition. Kudos to her on her very valiant effort. She tried her best. Anyway, my name is Trinikid and you've just been informed.
