SAD: 12 Year Old Girl Commits Suicide After Being Bullied Online. Two Arrests Have Been Made.

Sup Travellers?! There have been many reports on my blog about teen suicde but I never had the reason to report on tween suicide. Tween suicide is suicide by someone who is not old enough to be called a teen but not young enough to be considered an infant. But...SH*T HAPPENS. According to reports from Fox News a 12 year old Florida girl committed suicide after being bullied online by several girls for nearly a year.

The story is a little more than a month old but just recently two girls were arrested in relation to the suicide. The girls who were arrested are 12 and 14 and they have been charged with felony aggravated stalking. Officials have said Rebecca Sedwick was "terrorized" by as many as 15 girls who ganged up on her for months using online message boards and texts. On Sept. 9, authorities say, Rebecca climbed a tower at an abandoned concrete plant and hurled herself to her death.

It was reported that one of the suspects had been dating Sedwick's former boyfriend. This caused a negative confrontation between the two girls but Sedwick was overpowered. The girl posted comments on the Internet saying Sedwick should "drink bleach and die". The second girl arrested was a former best friend of Sedwick's who was influenced by the other girl to turn on her. Sedwick's mother removed her from the school after the 2012 school year, but the bullying continued on the girl's cellphone via social media. She then went on to kill herself because of it. Accused: Katelyn Roman, 12, left, and Guadalupe Shaw, 14, right are pictured below:

After the suicide, police looked at her computer and found searches for topics including "what is overweight for a 13-year-old girl," and suicide methods. One of her screensavers also showed Rebecca with her head resting on a railroad track.

This is definitely a sign. A sign that the ages of suicide victims are decreasing. Before this, teen suicide was a big thing but now it seems like the tweens are joining in. The other thing to take note of is that online bullying has become a major catalyst for the suicide of teens and tweens. Facebook and Twitter have been trying really hard to crack down on cyber bullies but there is only so much that they can do. At the end of the day it all comes down to the psyche of the individual being bullied. May Rebecca rest in peace and may justice be served. So far only two of the girls have been arrested but the rest are still out there. The Florida police needs to weed them out of their holes and throw them in jail. NO MERCY!! My name is Trinikid and you've just been informed.
