Sup Travellers?! You've probably noticed that I don't write a lot about Trinidad stuff. I do write Trinidad stuff..... But not much. And there is a really good reason why I don't. It's not because I don't like the country, it's because most of the big headlines are usually veryyyy...... How to put it? Indecent. Most of the headlines from Trinidad make the country look like a horrible place to live in. But it isn't. There are really just two sides to the country. The courteous, peaceloving and artistic side, then there is the dark, demented and crazy side. It's just a matter of staying on the right side. Please note that in using the word "side" i'm not implying geography. Anyway, read on.

I found a story on the Trinidad Express about a detached head that was found on Nelson Street. Who the hell dumps a head in the street? That's crazy people action if you ask me. According to the the report the people of Nelson Street stumbled upon the head on the sidewalk next to the Credo building while going about their morning business at about 6:15 am on Sunday. The man has been identified as Michael Derrick Piper of Chaconia Avenue, Morvant and his body was found a few feet away in an an abandon lot. Police have assumed that it was gang related. The man had no gun shot wounds so it was most likely a beheading by a gang at the abandoned lot. The head on the sidewalk was, according to the police, "positioned" there because it was in full view of closed circuit television cameras (CCTV).

There are a couple pictures that I could share of the scene but I prefer not to. It is very disturbing. I could only imagine how the people of Sea Lots must have felt after seeing a detached head on the sidewalk. Well, according to the papers, most of the people took pictures with their camera phones. Typical humans...LOL. Pictures are important but I wouldn't have wanted a picture of a detached head on my phone. But that's just me. I really do hope that some sort of justice is served in this. The government budgeted as much as TT$6.5 billion to National Security so I hope that money helps in some way. Anyway, my name is Trinikid and you've just been informed.

One Response so far.
