Sup Travellers?! Have you ever seen 300? Well, you know the guy who acted as the king? What's his name again. Oh yeah, Gerard Butler. Well he's coming to Trinidad on Friday to support his Cricket team the Jamaica Tallawahs as they face off against the Barbados Tridents in the second semi-final of the Caribbean Premier League. Read on.

According to reports from Jay Blessed Media, the Hollywood star has an equity interest in the Jamaica Tallawahs. Gerard Butler is Scottish so he knows quite a lot about cricket. “It is obvious that this tournament is the home of the greatest party in sport so I wanted to get in on the fun,” said Butler Monday. “Having said that, as a Scotsman I definitely have an appreciation for cricket and I also recognise that the CPL is a great combination of sports and entertainment. I’m excited about joining the Jamaica Tallawahs franchise, and hopefully being a part of the team that wins the inaugural tournament.

The CPL Chief Executive Officer Damien O’Donohoe had a few words to say about Gerard Butler's appreciation for the tournament: “We are thrilled that Gerard has seen the enormous potential of the CPL and has taken an equity interest in the Jamaica Tallawahs.” It is obvious that the international appeal for the game of cricket is growing because just last month, Ted star, Mark Wahlberg had also taken an equity interest in a CPL team; the Barbados Tridents. This is definitely a good thing for not only cricket but also the Caribbean because chances are that more and more foreigners will visit in order to be a part of the fun. The CPL concludes on Saturday in Trinidad. My name is Trinikid and you've just been informed.

One Response so far.
