Sup Travellers?! I've got some tragic news for you from Trinidad and Tobago. Two teenage brothers were both stabbed to death only 15 minutes after their mother told them to "hurry home!" The boys were watching a football match at the Aranguez Savannah on Sunday night the time they were killed. Read on.

According to reports from the Trinidad and Tobago Newsday, Arshad Kadir, 16, and  his older brother, Jafar Kadir, 17, were both stabbed to death at around 9pm on Sunday. Police reports state that the brothers were with a group of friends sitting under a Samaan tree at the Aranguez savannah, when they were approached by two men. The men initially were just observing the football match. However, a short while later, one of the suspects reportedly pulled out a knife and confronted one of the folks in the brothers’ group, identified only as ‘Boodoo’ and demanded his cellular phone.

The brothers, on seeing what was taking place, together with another youth Kaleel Mohammed, 16, ran to Boodoo’s assistance. The two assailants confronted the Kadir brothers and Mohammed, stabbing them repeatedly before fleeing the scene. Jafar was stabbed repeatedly in his chest causing fatal injuries to his heart and lungs. His brother Arshad, was stabbed in the right leg with an artery being punctured. He bled to death within minutes of being stabbed. The three teens were rushed to Mt Hope where they were immediately sent to the Intensive Care Unit.  Mohammed, who was stabbed in the chest, was treated and subsequently discharged.

My heart goes out to the friends and family of the brothers who lost their life. Let's just hope that justice is served and justice is served swiftly and on time. My name is Trinikid and you've just been informed.
