Sunday night was the pre inauguration concert for Barack Obama's second term. It consisted of a host of performances but the one that really stood out was Lupe Fiasco's performance of his hit song 'Words I Never Said.' If you know the song, you will be aware that in it he disses the President of the United States. So making an Anti "Obamian"  perform at the Obama pre  inauguration concert may not have been one of the best ideas in the world.

Lupe Fiasco went up on stage and performed the song for about 30 minutes dissing Obama then going into an Anti Obama rant on the stage after he was told to sing another song. He was then thrown off the stage and escorted off the premises.

Eventhough it has been a while it is not the first time that Lupe Fiasco made negative comments about Barack Obama. During an interview with CBS in 2011, he called the president a terrorist. He said, “My fight against terrorism, to me, the biggest terrorist is Obama and the United States of America. I’m trying to fight the terrorism that’s actually causing the other forms of terrorism.

You know, the root cause of terrorism is the stuff the U.S. government allows to happen. The foreign policies that we have in place in different countries that inspire people to become terrorists.

The organizers of the concert stated after that they didn't remove the rapper because of his negative comments towards the President but because of his crappy performance.

We are staunch supporters of free speech, and free political speech,” the organizers said. “This was not about his opinions. Instead, after a bizarrely repetitive, jarring performance that left the crowd vocally dissatisfied, organizers decided to move on to the next act.

One Response so far.
