Robert Englund Says That He May Have One More Nightmare On Elm Street Left In Him.

Robert Englund has played the role of Freddy Krueger quite well during his time but we haven't seen him reprise that iconic role in quite some time, until possibly now.
During an interview with Access Online, Englund was asked about a rebooting of the Nightmare On Elm Street franchise. Englund responded by saying: “I think they want to reboot the franchise, but they’re gonna need a new actor. They’re gonna need a new actor to play Freddy because they’re gonna have to do eight of them. I might have one left in me… but yeah.”

So, I don't think Englund will be hired to be playing Freddy Krueger in an 8 movie deal given his age, however, he has reprised the role for a new Halloween episode of THE GOLDBERGS and the reason why he did it is absolutely beautiful.

"I’ve been very protective of the character for years … I said no to [series creator] Adam [Goldberg]. And then he sent me probably the most beautiful fan letter I ever received, telling me how much “A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors” meant to him. And then I started thinking about my fans, how it dovetails with the ’80s experience and this sort of retro memory play that “The Goldbergs” is about."
So even though he may not be coming back for an 8 movie deal for Nightmare On Elm Street he has an idea that could see him returning for at least one: “Freddy is only alive in the imagination of his future victim,” he said back in July. “They would talk about it at a slumber party or in a locker room at school, or on the bus going home. All we know about this Fred Krueger is he wears a hat, wears a red and green striped sweater and has a clawed hand.” This means that a different actor could play Freddy for each victim.

Would you like to see Robert Englund return as Freddy Krueger or is it time for a new actor to take his place? Let me know on Facebook or in the comments section below. My name is Trinikid and you've just been informed.
