'Space Jam 2' With Lebron James Is Officially Happening And It's Being Produced By Black Panther Director

Black Panther director Ryan Coogler is going to be really busy for the next few years. He's not only directing Black Panther 2 but according to recent news he will also be producing the upcoming Space Jam sequel. Coogler's going to need a lot of coffee!
The 1996 Space Jam film was a huge hit and Michael Jordan completely owned his role as....Michael Jordan. This time however, Los Angeles Lakers' LeBron James will be teaming up with Bugs Bunny and the rest of the gang to take on evil.

Ryan Coogler is currently on board as one of the producers but he will not be directing as I'm sure he already has a lot of directing to do for the upcoming Black Panther film. Terence Nance will be the director.

Lebron James is more well known for his skills on the court but his acting isn't too bad. He got quite a lot of praise for his role in the 2015 Amy Schumer-Bill Hader comedy 'Trainwreck'. About his role, James said: "The Space Jam collaboration is so much more than just me and the Looney Tunes getting together and doing this movie...It's so much bigger. I'd just love for kids to understand how empowered they can feel and how empowered they can be if they don't just give up on their dreams. And I think Ryan did that for a lot of people.”
Are you excited to see Space Jam 2? I personally am. I know sometimes it's best to leave classic shows alone but I feel like in this day and age there are new superstars in the basketball arena and it's only fair to make a Space Jam sequel representing that. This just seems right and Lebron James is definitely the right man for the job. What are your thoughts? Let me know on Facebook or in the comments section below.
