Joaquin Phoenix's Joker Movie Is Officially A Go And Will Begin Filming In September

Joker is finally getting his own origin movie, exclusive of Batman and the man who Hollywood officially chose to play the part is none other than Joaquin Phoenix.

Now, I have said before that I really like the idea of Phoenix playing the role of Joker. I think he's a good fit, dare I say, a better fit than Jared Leto.

But whether or not he's a good fit is going to be completely dependent on his performance so I'm not going to give him too much kudos just yet.

The Warner Bros. film will be directed and co-written by Todd Phillips and is said to be an "exploration of a man disregarded by society [that] is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale."

At the moment, the film is scheduled to begin filming in September with a modest budget of $55 million.

There currently isn't an official release date but I expect it to be sometime in late 2019.

Warner Bros is also creating another stand-alone film with Jared Leto so I can't wait for it so we can start comparing and contrasting the two jokers. Honestly, I think Phoenix will be better and that's just my opinion. Are you excited about this?

Anyway, my name is Trinikid and you've just been informed.
