Father Burns 13-Year-Old Daughter To Death For Walking Home With A Boy From Her Class.

Sup Travellers?! A father from Tunisia has done what most fathers wouldn't do. He killed his only daughter. There have been many cases similar to this one in the past but what makes this one different from the others is the reasoning behind it.

According to reports from Tunisia Live, Inquisitr and Ryot, the Tunisian man burnt his 13 year old daughter to death because he saw her walking home with a boy from her class. The incident occurred on May 28th in Ibn Khaldoun, a suburb of Tunisia

The girl, a middle school student named Aya, spent nine days in the hospital before succumbing to her fourth-degree burns on June 7th. Her father has since been arrested for his crime. Aya’s death has been seen as resulting from an ‘honor crime,’ a killing committed in response to perceived shaming of the family. Such practices are almost unheard of in modern Tunisia.

A social media movement in the country has been launched in response to the killing, with activists calling for greater news coverage of the incident. Up to today, the Tunisian government has not yet released a statement regarding the girl’s brutal death and the activists are not happy.

Walking home with a boy in no way should bring shame to a family. I think the father should have been grateful that the boy escorted his daughter home in the light of all the crazy people in this world. They were just walking together. So the whole "mumbo jumbo" about it being an "honor crime" is complete and UTTEEEEER BULLSHIT!!

Honor crimes are usually committed towards people who commit adultery and people who are gay. Even though honor crimes are practiced in a couple countries, I don't think putting  the word "honor" in front of the word "crime" makes it any less wrong and unacceptable. The father was in no way qualified to pass judgment on young Aya especially for something as petty as walking home with a boy. He deserves to be locked away in jail forever but that's not my call to make. Anyway, my name is Trinikid and you've just been informed.
