8.2 Magnitude Earthquake Rocks Chile. Tsunami Ensued!!

Sup Travellers?! My heart goes out to the families of those who lost their lives in an 8.2 magnitude earthquake that rocked Chile on Tuesday night. The death toll is at 5, according to CNBC and BBC. There was also a Tsunami that pounded the shore with 6-foot waves. There is still a threat of bigger waves so the country is still on Tsunami alert.

Tens of Thousands of Chileans had to flee their homes after the quake to higher ground. There have been power cuts, fires, and landslides in affected areas and at least five people have been killed, including people who were crushed by collapsing walls or died of heart attacks. A number of people were also injured but an official figure has yet to be released.

In the city of Iquique, 61 miles northwest of the epicenter, police and soldiers are searching the partially flooded city for 300-plus escaped female prisoners. Police have been battling looters, and firefighters are fighting a huge blaze in the center of the city.

Let's hope that a giant Tsunami doesn't hit because if it does the death toll could rise to way more than just 5. Anyway, my name is Trinikid and you've just been informed.
