Sup Travellers?! Do you believe that babies can be the bearers of evil? They can be very noisy at times but describing a baby as evil is a bit far fetched if you ask me. It's a very superstitious claim that a 30 year old Nigerian father believed about his son. The Daily Mail UK reports that Chris Elvis allegedly accused his 4 year old son Godrich of being an "Ogbanje" or "child of evil" and blamed him for his bad luck in recent days. In order to rid himself of the supposed evil, Elvis killed his son.

He reportedly padlocked his son's mouth to stop him from screaming, beat him, burned him all over his body with a hot iron and then locked him in a plastic drum. The boy's mother found her dead son's body and quickly called the police. Elvis was arrested and charged with murder. He tried to act mentally ill when he was arrested, but the authorities said his condition was normal

The charge sheet reads: "That you, Chris Elvis, on February 10, 2014, about 5pm at 7, Adetola Adelaja street, Meiran Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did unlawfully kill one Godrich Elvis, aged four years by using hot pressing iron to burn him all over his body and putting him inside a plastic drum and locked the drum with padlock and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 221 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2011."

Elvis was probably really superstitious but I think that this is more of a case of a father taking out his anger on his son. He had a bad week and wanted to take out on someone. It's just sad that young Ogbanje was the person he decided to take it out on. I think his superstitious excuse was just a big. I jumped to that conclusion after I read that he tried to act mentally ill when he got arrested in hopes that he may have gotten some sympathy.  But "evil" baby or not, Elvis's luck just ran out. Anyway, my name is Trinikid and you've just been informed.
