Kiev, Ukraine Is Now A Full On Warzone. LITERALLY!!!

Sup Travellers?! I've been following the protests that have been going on in Kiev for a little while now but I had no idea that it would have escalated so quickly into what it is today. The city of Kiev is now a full on warzone and it is only expected to get worse as the anti-government protests continue. As much as 5 people have been reportedly killed and 1,250 injured in the deadly protests that have been plaguing the Ukraine capital.

There could be a million and one reasons why the protests started but the main reason is based on the trade and investment deal from the European Union that President Viktor Yanukovych turned down in favor of a bailout loan from Russia. Many of the citizens reportedly felt betrayed with the idea that their president was planning on selling out the country to Russia because of the problems with the country's economy.

Bloomberg reports that the unrest spread from the country's capital and is now looking more and more like a historic civil war. There is a lot more to this story and I can't even begin to start reporting on it all but in retrospect......SH*T'S ABOUT TO GET SERIOUS!!!! And as all matters of the world go, The White House intervened. The New York Daily News reports that the White House has threatened sanctions against Ukraine if the violence continues.

I'm all for the US jumping in to try to save the day but I think that Ukraine should be able to end the violence on their own. The solution is not as simple as I make it out to be because it will involve Yanukovych ultimately turning down a deal that could potentially help the economy. But it's obvious that the people don't want it so it's just a matter of giving the people what they want. A spokesman for a top Ukrainian opposition leader says that the the chances of ending the violence that has convulsed the capital are high after a meeting with the president. We'll just have to wait and see how this all progresses. Anyway, my name is Trinikid and you've just been informed.
