Sup Travellers?! The al Queda militants are still very active today as they ever were and they are making sure that the world knows that. They may not have attacked the US too much lately but yesterday in an upscale mall in Nairobi Kenya, al-Qaeda-linked militants al-Shabab went on a shooting rampage killing as much as 59 people and wounding as much as 175. [Two Canadians, a couple French and a few Chinese were among the foreigners killed. Americans and British folks were included among the foreigners injured]

Multiple barrages of gunfire erupted yesterday morning from inside the building where there was a hostage standoff with Islamic extremists. The number of people who were held hostage in the mall is unknown but the country’s national security advisory council said that as much as 1000 people were rescued. This was according to reports from Bloomberg and CTV. The country's President, Uhuru Kenyatta, said that he "personally lost family members" in the attack on the Westgate mall. "We shall hunt down the perpetrators wherever they run to," he promised Kenyans in his address. "We shall get to them and we shall punish them for this heinous crime."

"They just came in and threw a grenade," one witness says. "We were running and they opened fire. They were shouting and firing." The Somali militant group al-Shabab has claimed responsibility for what it is calling the "Westgate spectacle". The Kenyan police officers have claimed that they "isolated and pinned down the attackers"

This wasn't however the only terrorist attack that occurred yesterday. I'll write up on that a little bit later but 72 people died in a funeral in Baghdad yesterday after a suicide bomber detonated himself. It was one the largest single terrorist assaults on civilians in Iraq in recent years. It is not confirmed if it was al-Queda linked but it was a terrorist attack. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who was affected by the terrorists attacks yesterday. My name is Trinikid and you've just been informed.
