BOX OFFICE: How Much Did Man Of Steel Gross In Its Opening Weekend?

Sup Travellers?! The highly anticipated Man of Steel opened to a real banger domestically this Father's Day weekend. The film did not do to well with critics because the amount of bad reviews on the movie are terrible. However, people still stormed in by the millions to push Man of Steel to the Number 1 position this weekend and made it the number 1 film during the month of June in the history of all Junes ever. LOL.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Man of Steel, directed by Snyder and produced by Christopher Nolan, debuted to $113.1 million over Father's Day weekend in North America and to $71.6 million from 24 markets overseas for a total opening of $196.7 million. That includes the $12 million grossed Thursday night from special Walmart screenings in the U.S., which puts the domestic take at $125.1 million.

The previous record holder for best June film ever was Toy Story 3, which debuted to $110.3 million in June 2010. So it's obvious that Man of Steel broke that record.  Rounding out the top five: This Is the End ($32.8 million); Now You See Me ($10.3 million); Fast & Furious 6 ($9.4 million); and The Purge ($8.2 million).

This weekend's box office seemed to be very good. Maybe everyone took their fathers out to see a good movie because Hollywood made a lot of money this past weekend. Maybe if I big up Hollywood here they'll share a few of them big bucks with me (Maybe not). Anyway, my name is Trinikid and you've just been informed
