Do you believe in aliens? Well if you do or if you don't you must admit that the video below has the words alien written all over it. Elijah Prychodzko captured a strange occurrence in the Sacramento sky while stargazing and the visuals has baffled even the best astronomers in the world.

"I saw something that I'd never seen before. I saw another object orbiting this, whatever it was up there, and I've never seen anything like that before," Prychodzko told Sacramento TV affiliate CBS 13.

Prychodzko contacted and gave his video to Cody Stark of CBS 13's "Good Day Sacramento" program.

"It's his camera phone shot through a telescope lens, so we zoomed in and slowed it down. It certainly looks suspiciously like an explosion," Stark said on the news report.

Stark then sent the video to Stephen P. Maran, author of Astronomy For Dummies.

Maran, who has worked on various NASA programs and is the press officer of the American Astronomical Society, told CBS 13 he doesn't think the reported explosion was an astronomical phenomenon. The explosion occurred on the 20th of December 2012, the day before the Mayan apocalypse. Is it linked it any way? We'll just have to wait and see. Maybe the Mayans were right in a very subtle way. Maybe something did happen on the 21st of December 2012.....

Nobody has come forward to officially explain the event therefore the phenomenon is currently a mystery.
