Nowhere is safe nowadays, not even your Facebook profile. Apparently, if you drive drunk, hit someone, get away then boast about it on Facebook you can get arrested. Who knew!!! According to reports 18-year-old Jacob Cox-Brown from Astoria, Oregon was arrested on Wednesday for a hit and run.

At first he got away with the crime but the genius decided to boast about it on Facebook. Well he didn't really boast about it, he kind of apologized for hitting the man. Now all was good in Jacob land until one of his friends decided to snitch on him and forwarded the message to an Astoria police officer, and after matching the damage from Jacob’s vehicle to the accident report, the arrest was made.

Jacob was booked on 2 counts of failing to perform his duties as a driver. He was not booked for drunk driving because the only evidence they had of intoxication was the post and that would not be sufficient evidence in court.

The Astoria Police Department released a statement later that day:

Astoria Police have an active social media presence,” a press release from Astoria Police read Wednesday. “It was a private Facebook message to one of our officers that got this case moving, though. When you post … on Facebook, you have to figure that it is not going to stay private long.

  1. That doesn't make sense to how is written confession not sufficient enough in court lol to me thats more than enough evidence this kid was drunk and should be charged for drinking and driving as well

Sadly, this is what our generation will have to show for ourselves to the coming generations. Our kids are going to laugh their asses off at us..
