Nintendo seemed to be on top of things for the year 2013 after they made a bunch of epic announcements earlier. However, all of Nintendo's hopes and dreams flew out the window after Sony teased us with some of the specs of the new PlayStation system called "Orbis". Now we aren't too sure if the name of the PlayStation 4 will be "Orbis" or if it will just be called the PlayStation 4 but frankly I don't care about the name. What I do care about is how better will the PS4 be and will it be worth my money. Well below is a list of some of the specs:

System Memory: 8GB

Video Memory: 2.2 GB

CPU: 4x Dual-Core AMD64 “Bulldozer” (so, 8x cores)

GPU: AMD R10xx

Ports: 4x USB 3.0, 2x Ethernet

Drive: Blu-Ray

HDD: 160GB

Audio Output: HDMI & Optical, 2.0, 5.1 & 7.1 channels

These specs are from a kit that Kotaku received, so they are all able to change when the final product is released. There are other features such as a headphone jack in the front of the console, but it has not been confirmed if that is just for the kit or for the retail model.

The controller has been rumored to have the same features as the DualShock 3 and Sixaxis controllers. It seems to have the standard 4 iconic face buttons, shoulder toggle buttons and the two analog sticks for its predecessors, and a move improved motion control, similar to the Playstation Move.
There are also rumors of there being a share button on the controller, but it is still unclear as to what its use is. There is also talk of the control having a Game Pad similar to the PS Vita.

From the specs, Kotaku reported that accounts could be attached to a specific controller and be taken anywhere. So if you wanted to play with your friends, you could just bring your controller to their house and sync up your controller to their console. No more having to sign in and out of every system you want to play on. Also, if you were to sync your controller to another device with your account, all the achievements you unlock on that system also go to your account.

Now, please be aware that these features are prone to change but it is the preliminary overview of the PS4. The release date of the console has yet to be announced but many speculate that it will be released in 2013 or at least the release date.

I'm looking forward to the PS4 but until Sony can acquire rights to Gears of War, XBOX 360 is the best...... Just saying.
