I haven't done this type of post in a while because since 007 Skyfall, there weren't any good movies to really talk about. However, after many failed weeks in Hollywood a good movie finally came out of the depths. I was really looking forward to see Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters, but apparently I was only one in a few. The movie didn't make much money this weekend, a mere $18 million. However it still managed to make it to the top of the box office this weekend because of a general flop. This weekend's box office was poor.


Paramount‘s Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters 3D co-financed with MGM playing on 3,372 theaters opened to $5.9M Friday then went up +40% to $8.4M Saturday. It's disappointing tally of $18 million for the weekend could possibly mean that Paramount could make a loss. However, the film was a relatively low budget one costing only $50 million according to Paramount, so I think that they are going to make back their money if all goes well.
