SPORTS: T&T's Kelly Ann Baptiste Going For Gold After Clocking 10.96 In Round 1 Of The Women's 100m Sprint At The London 2012 Olympics

The Trinbagonian sprinter Kelly Ann Baptiste cruised to an epic win in Heat 1 during Round 1 of the women's 100m sprint. Her fellow Trinbagonians, Michelle-Lee Ahye and Semoy Hackett also did really well in their separate heats, coming 3rd and 2nd respectively. They were simply amazing on the track, no doubt.

Kelly Ann Baptiste didn't get the fastest time in the first round so one can be quite worried, especially since the fastest time for the round was 10.83 seconds set by Carmelita Jeter. In a matter of fact, she has the fourth fastest time in round 1. However i'm backing the Trinbago women all the way, because it's in my blood to do so. I could just sense that in the moment where Kelly Ann Baptiste and Carmelita Jeter are side by side on the track, the Machel Montano going for gold song will play in her head and she'll get a boost in speed, confidence and patriotism surpassing anything that Carmelita could attempt. Just a sense. But win or lose, T&T all the way.

We Going For GOLD!!!!
