It is official now. The Avengers is the greatest movie of all time, grossing an unprecedented $200.3 million in the weekend's box office. The figures mean that The Avengers surpassed the record by $31.1 million, which makes The Avengers the highest grossing film on an opening weekend.

The Avengers also set the record as the first film ever to pass $200 million in three days, totally destroying Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 which made $169.2 million in its allotted three days opening weekend.

The amazing thing is that The Avengers could have made much more, but many theatres ran out of seats according to IMAX executive, Greg Foster.

"IMAX had one big issue," IMAX exec Greg Foster said in an email. "We ran out of seats to sell!"

In one week, the Avengers has already grossed $641.8 million worldwide, which opens the door for a billion dollar movie.
