Creative Ways to Boost Creativity

Creativity is something that all people should develop. There is a misconception that creativity is important only among artists, poets and writers. But the truth is, creativity can be used in other fields as well. The most successful scientists, businessmen and politicians are those who are very creative. Many people think that either you are born creative or you are not. This is not true. Creativity can be developed through various methods. And no, you don't necessarily have to enroll in an art class or join a writing workshop to boost creativity. What follows are different methods that you can try to make you a more creative person.
Keep a journal
Everyday, you are bombarded by experiences that can help you become more creative. It could come from people you meet who inspire you or even from movies that you watch. The problem is, you can't remember all these experiences. And it is quite unfortunate that many of them are buried deep down your mind. There is one effective way to keep track of all these memories though and that is by keeping a journal. You are not limited to simply writing about your experiences in your journal. You can log them in a creative way. You can doodle or maybe even make a scrapbook out of them. Then, during times when you need inspiration, all you have to do is to open your journal.
Break routine
Often, we get so comfortable to the things we do everyday that our brain stops creating new patterns and just seem to work automatically. Yes, routines are very useful but they can also kill creativity. This is why we should break routine every once in a while. For example, you can take a different route in the morning, on your way to the office. Go to a different bar the next time you go out with friends. If you have worked in the same office cubicle for several years already then maybe you can ask to be transferred. If that is not possible, then simply rearrange your workspace to make it look different. Little changes like this can spark creativity in your mind.
You should exercise regularly if you want to be creative. This may seem like a strange advice, but the link between regular physical activity and creativity has long been confirmed by scientists. This has something to do with movement. After all, to live is to move. The greatest works of art are actually very dynamic. Perhaps, we can say that movement is the source of creativity. This is why exercise helps in making individuals more creative.
Exercise can also release hormones called endorphins which gives a natural sense of ecstasy. This positive feeling can also lead to increased creativity. You don't have to go to the gym to get some exercise. After all, Da Vinci didn't have to go to the gym to make the Mona Lisa. You can just exercise at home. One very good exercise equipment that you can purchase is a Needak rebounder.
