The famous R&B artiste Beyonce Knowles has been charged $100 million dollars by the software designers, Gate Five LLC for allegedly destroying their business on a "whim." You don't have to be an accountant to know that $100 million US D is a lot of money and even for a huge star like Beyonce Knowles, that may not be a very easy sum to conjure up.

It was reported that Beyonce had teamed up with Gate Five to produce a new game licensed in her image called Starpower in 2010. This endeavor caused Gate Five LLC to invest 7 million dollars in the game which would have allowed players to dance along with some of her hit songs. However it was reported that Beyonce had pulled herself out of the contract and didn't compensate the company as she said she would. She demanded entirely new compensation terms This in turn caused Gate Five to have to release 70 of their employees due to lack of revenue.

After that, the court papers and highly paid Lawyers rolled into the picture with their high beams on and a bucket of war paint.

Quote from court papers:

"a bad faith breach of contract so callous that, on what appeared to be a whim, she destroyed Gate Five's business and drove 70 people into unemployment"

When the Gate Five LLC founder, Grey Easley, attempted to communicate with Beyonce she said, "I do not want to hear from you guys, go away!"

This seems very serious and may get the artiste in a lot of trouble, but Grey Easley kept his cool and said that they rather make a game than litigate.

I don't know how this one is going to end but I guess only time will tell.
